Collar tribute to the destructive P – 40 WarhawkThe Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is an American World War II fighter, the culmination of the famous Curtiss family of aircraft.The technical performance of the P-40 almost never surpassed that of its adversaries, but the defects of this robust and powerful fighter did not prevent it from becoming one of the most destructive aircraft of the war.
P-40 Warhawk with the shark jaws that the plane displayed when it was flown by the Flying Tigers, the famous unit made up of pilots from the American Volunteer Group.
Their shark-mouth planes were designed to deal a psychological blow to the Japanese, the aviators got the idea from a British squadron who painted the noses of their planes with shark mouths.
